The participants were introduced to many different topics such as Globalization and its effects on workers, unionization and difference between gender and sex. Zahra Khan and Irfana Abdul Jabbar conducted the training. The training ended with distribution of certificates to the participants.

Abdul Shakoor, was born in Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa’s district Mansehra in year 1963. He has been associated with Power Looms since 12 years and is president of “Power Looms General Workers Union” this organization was formed in 1988. This was then led by late president Sardar Khayal and general secretary Iqbal.  He says that two types of workers are associated in this sector: one who works on piece rate as daily wager and other who work on set salary. But they don’t have a written appointment letter. According to him 4500 workers are working in power looms. One unit has approximately 5 to 50 workers. The workers are working in pitiable conditions. There is no time frame for weekly or monthly holidays. Workers are exposed to accidents but there is no health facility for them. They are forced to go to private clinics etc. He says that they want to have rights of power loom workers through their struggle.
